What city would you say is the most important city in the history of the world?

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

There are thousands of cities throughout the world that have played a significant role in the history of the world. Cities such as Rome, Cairo, New York City, Tokyo and Rio de Janerio have played a significant role in world history.

Out of all the cities in the history of the world, which city would you say is the most important city that has ever existed in world history?

Out of all the cities in the history of the world, I would say that Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is the most important city in world history because if it wasn’t for Philadelphia, the United States of America (which I believe is the greatest civilization that has ever existed) would have never been created since the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America were drafted at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

What's the difference between History and Social Studies?

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

I’m on Collegeboard and it’s asking me how many years of Social Studies I’ve taken. I’ve always thought that social studies was the same as History, but it also asks me how many years of History I’ve taken. I plan on taking two years of History (I’m a Sophomore) and I don’t know what they mean. The college I want to go to (UNC at Chapel Hill) doesn’t require history, but they require three years of social studies. Would my two years in History (World History and US History) count as social studies?

Are Social Studies and History both the same? If not how would I fufill their requirements?
